I really need to learn how to do that, instead of just letting it ride on fish fins from scans and worrying about it later.

mBrave, which is connected to BOLD, takes raw reads, clusters, and does bin/taxonomic assignment. You can use different reference databases, if you want to avoid the goldfish. Not a perfect tool, needs some improvement, but an easy tool for sure.

Sorry, I’ve been busy admiring this orange cat. Actually I’m just trying not to step on it and mortally injure it bc it wants pets while I’m doing dishes.

I like to tell people that running a 3D printer is like playing an instrument. The digital artists are the composer and the printer is the instrument it’s played on. Gotta keep it tuned, you will have to fix it occasionally, but the more you do it the better you’ll get at it.
