The average citygoer and ruralite in the south is not different than the citygoers and ruralites of any other state. The difference is in the south all the rural conservative weirdoes stole and hoard power and ruthlessly bludgeon the rest of us with it to maintain control. :/
People like me stay around in the south because we want change and are unwilling (or unable) to leave. There's a light at the end of the tunnel.
The way people (mostly libs) that I interact with act like it's normal to say people should suffer in the south because "they voted for it" is so fucking frustrating. And say this while we are in Ohio. My brother in Christ, we are also in a red state...this shit could easily happen to us.
I live in the South, can confirm. There are a lot of good people here
REALLY doesn’t feel that way as an Arkansas boy. I live with an extreme trumpist, and it seems like everyone she talks to with me around agrees with her.
It's kind of hard to say with total confidence because of the situation, but I do feel in my gut Texas would be a sorta blue state the same way Georgia sorta is (think Dallas moving the needle same as Atalanta). If not for texas being the voter suppression capital of the states.
That just seems rather confusing to me.
NC boy here, we are literally a textbook example of gerrymandering and would be a blue state were it not for our demonic republican legislature
There's an old saying about the South vs. the North that I fully agree with. "In the South, they don't mind POC living close so long as they don't get too high (ranked). In the North, they don't mind POC getting high so long as they don't live too close."
