ya the “there might be good people living there” take feels ….. hmm i guess incongruous. it’s a weird bit of binary thinking from people who normally pride themselves in their cognizance of the harm of binaries.

Empathetically I feel like both are an attempt to grapple with the raw potential horror of it by essentially minimizing it.
