i'm really sorry that this is the first election for so many people and that so many people don't realize women, and especially, women of color have to go out of their way to assure white voters that they will be normal and competent politicians, but you do actually have to grow up at some point

At this point as a white male I’m amazed that our right to vote hasn’t been revoked given the stellar record white males have as both office holders and voters who vote inexcusable human beings into office.

A lot of our compatriots have gone off the deep end, but they still get to vote, and we have to deal with it.

This was literally the reason why Obama needed the optics of “calm, experienced (white, male) Joe Biden.” Which is funny in hindsight because Biden had been far far far more progressive than Obama ever was (despite getting no credit for it).

Also we're talking about a politician who enjoyed an unbroken seventeen year-long streak of electoral victories until she ran for president in 2020, it's entirely possible she actually knows what the hell she's doing.

It's also an instant clippable moment when "Harris has said she'd have a Republican in the cabinet" is the response to "woke woke woke woke woke"
