it's kind of remarkable to see what happens when someone who knows what they're talking about asks trump a direct question, it's unfortunate we haven't been seeing it all year
Media has completely buried that all of Trump's interviews have been friendly partisan media and/or influencers who basically ask him "what's it like to be rich," "are your opponents too mean to you?"
[shots fired!]
I gotta believe there's some conservative-leaning economist out there who would've enjoyed filling an opinion column once a week dunking on the guy who still unironically believes in mercantilism.
The 2024 cycle is really an enormous leadership failure, at the highest levels, in the organizations ostensibly dedicated to gathering facts and reporting them to the public.
common british questioner w
Doubly maddening as the NYT and WaPo play goalie for Trump and never note how utterly rudderless he is when faced with the slightest amount of pushback.
Next time I buy something and I'm charged HST I will say "what's this extra charge?" and when they say "Uh, that's the sales tax, you have to pay that" I will reply "Not the way I see it, I was always very good a mathematics" and see how that goes.
No one fact checks like a Brit. If they had a Nobel for Pedantry it's non-stop gold.
Can't help but think if the interviewer was American, it wouldn't have gone this way. Brits don't seem to be so deferential & subservient as interviewers.
the irritating thing of these clips is him failing to answer and blathering and then going "yeah well YOU SMELL" and the baboons in the audience hooting "YEAH BRILLIANT HE DOES SMELL DONALD"
