The society has produced and nourishes a psychology which brings out the lowest, most base part of human beings." (life-changing to me as an 18 year old white man realizing I need to examine myself.)
I appreciate this post because I dug out my ancient copy of the autobiography to see what I underlined when I first read it in 1985 or so.
