I live in New York City, I’ve been playing the “Don’t Get Hit By Car” game for more than 20 years (at least that’s when I named it). I’ve never lost, but my brother has 3 times as a cyclist and survived each time.

I'm in Portland and I've been hit 5x on my bike in one way: them passing me and making an unsignalled right in front of me such that I can't brake in time. I turn my bike 90° and shoulder-check the car 🤷‍♀️ I follow traffic laws better than most cars, but I also go about 30mph and drivers aren't ready
