It’s giving “boycotts work on companies so of course they work on candidates” aaarggggghhhh no it just makes the pool of consent tilt way to the right and that’s why government panders to conservatives! They reliably show up to vote! They also show up in between elections! Vote early stay busy!

A political strategist friend once told me that politicians only pay attention to votes and donations. But I never hear about withholding donations - which might actually move the needle. Just votes, and that does very little.

Exactly. Politicians only care about people who vote. A non vote does not matter. When you boycott a company, the company loses money. When one doesn’t vote, the government is still OK. It’s not hurt by the lack of votes. If the youth really understood the power they could wield if they voted…
