I like to mix blackarch and chaotic repos on my stock arch install for the widest available package sourcing.
You wouldnโt I think itโs largely about delivering a consistent and updated image to a fleet of desktops like if you had a business. I just use it because itโs convenient to do some types of testing.
The real power of fedoras ostree based immutables is in the ability to swap the entire OS out with any OCI container. I frequently switch between Kinoite and Bazzite without batting an eye because I can rebase against a remote container registry.
Should just shoot for a trilogy at this point.
Most of your personal data will be in /home. There are ways to setup a system so you can do this without losing /home. But generally itโs a reset. I recommend backing up your home and then reinstalling and restoring everything when youโre done. Step 1 should always be backup.

I settled on fedora atomic. Now I can sub-distro hop by simply swapping out what OCI container takes up my root partition. Perhaps Linux is too flexible?
