It's funny...I looked through Okhrana at the start of the year, when I was writing about old games. Around 2006, there was a "standard structure" for GMless indie games: you go around the table, framing scenes (maybe different types of scenes), then roll dice to see what happens. 🧵

After that, some games used a similar GMless structure (Fiasco, Montsegur 1244), but they largely dispensed with stats and dice. By around 2009, there were almost two types of indie game: GMed games with stats and dice and GMless (almost larp-like) games without. I'm simplifying of course
