Would like to reassure people that Disney+ have not removed the original Indiana Jones films from my shelf of DVDs due to a series of complex internal licensing issues with Paramount.

I thought it would take way longer and for the dependency on streaming to be more entrenched before the services started giving the average person direct proof that their physical media nerd friends knew what they were talking about.

I just checked my box set of Quantum Leap and it’s still there. I live in dread of waking up to find my Kindle is empty though.

I have an old DVR where I like to play my boys old films and adverts in them from over 10 years ago at Christmas time just to hear them say “that’s awesome can I have it for Christmas?” And I say “no, it’s no longer manufactured.”

I think you may be in breach of a subscription agreement keeping physical data.

Can confirm, my lovely UHD set hasn’t vanished, despite it seeming frankly absurd we’re allowed to own such pristine copies. Always seemed weird Paramount films were on Disney+ in the first place.

Just checked in my mind, and they’re also still in my memory. Phew! Was expecting to find the search field come up empty and it just suggest similar titles.

I remember the day I got to explain international licensing to my 4 year old, who was in absolute floods because his absolute favourite programme had suddenly disappeared. Great times.
