The @nytimes.com has really done it this time. Publishing a piece on the lab leak theory is just terrible editorial judgment. Did they talk to ANY of their science reporters? Talk to anyone who works on viral emergence & origins? This is clickbait for the Fauci hearings this week. It is disgusting.
What is amazing is that every comment that the Times has approved on the article is supportive. No critical comments at all. My god do they need to bring back the Public Editor. It’s beyond editorial malpractice at this point.
The idea that we should give terrible ideas as much space and attention as good ideas is honestly one of the most corrosive forces in society today.

Almost everything I know about virology generally and the lab-leak theory specifically I know from Michael Hobbes, and even I can see that thisarticle is a piece of shit that traffics in all the same shit that the lab-leak people have been talking about since late 2020/early 2021.
This on-going COVID lab-leak grifting is both exhausting and utter disgraceful. Those people all suck
