We're gonna see a lot of crappy takes that basically say so-called "A.I." is coming whether we like it or not. But they said that about NFTs, too. We can still say no.

I was able to safely avoid NFTs, but this LLM-generated trash is showing up everywhere I cannot avoid, from Google results to shopping sites news sites to actually scary things like taxes and law enforcement. It’s inescapable.

At the moment, AI is a get-rich-quick scheme, and will remain so until something changes. Something will happen that will antagonise those with money, regulation will be introduced, and the arse will fall out of the market. Crypto, NFTs, AI. It's not the tech, it's the people using it to scam.

GenAI is a magic wand that makes everything it touches 80% cheaper but 20% crappier. If you don't think people aren't going to wave that over everything to see where it creates something they can sell, you don't know people.

It is also very obvious that the people using AI/LLMs/whatever new name ppl want to make up, in the manner that we are talking about ITT & creating the problems we as creatives are facing, are absolutely 1,000% the same monkey JPG hawkers. Since the AI jagoffs here try to act like they're different.
