Having to keep track of a million passwords and do 2 factor auth every time I want to do something online is exhausting, even with a pw manager. Having to switch between browsers to get various websites to work is tiring. Having to click through prefs every time I visit a new site is exhausting.f
Security-related friction like 2FA is one thing I'll give the tech industry a pass on. That has become increasingly necessary as scammers have become more sophisticated. What they don't get a pass for is still requiring security questions, easiest way to hack an account for the last decade.
There are undeniably many small improvements. But overall, I find myself frustrated by tech-induced friction all the dang time. I know it's a cliché to complain about the lack of a headphone jack and the dang dongle, but come on, it sucks.
