Pete Buttigieg's response to JD Vance and "childless cat ladies" is perfect. He notes his own struggles to adopt, adding: "He couldn't have known that, but maybe that's why you shouldn't be talking about other people's children." On the pod, we discuss: newrepublic.com/article/1842...
After Buttigieg scores a direct hit on Vance for smearing Dems in vile terms, a writer who closely tracks Vance digs into what this saga reveals about his deeply weird natalist worldview.
I'm sure Vance is too busy ramming his sofa to hear Mayor Pete's response.
Kamala, please pick Pete. I don’t know why everyone isn’t clamoring for it. he’s *right there*. it’s obvious. bsky.app/profile/elli...
Just trying to make morons nod to his concept of "more kids == extra votes" cuz they're "more invested" in America. A galaxy brain idea that the concept would only bolster Republican vote counts & leave Democrat cat ladies in the dust where they deserve to be, w/ no steak on the grill.🙄
I want him to be VP so badly!
Considering it's also an attack on Women with infertility he's definitely hitting new lows.
What I keep thinking is that Vance is the right-wing toxic male idea of what women want. Someone who probably self-identifies as “alpha” (you know he does), has stereotypical butchy/beard looks, and is a blowhard who talks over everyone. Says a lot about how little they understand most women.
Cat ladies with children don’t like being talked about that way either.
Remember Nestor Vance has a Nestor
Pete Buttigieg responded to JD Vance's "childless cat ladies" remark by highlighting his own struggles to adopt, saying, "He couldn't have known that, but maybe that's why you shouldn't be talking about other people's children."
