the first Pyramid Head one was also weird to me cuz when James is in the closet and he starts doing the weird gestures they made them like, a super-speed dab now, it looks stupid lol
man i watched a bunch of the cutscenes last night and so many of them are just toned down or have considerably less interesting camera staging
4) Alisa Developer's Cut: Actually played this earlier in the year but I'm throwing it up anyway cuz it's a really fuckin' good PS1 horror throwback. It's got it all, tank controls, fixed camera angles, and WEIRD PUPPETS. It also has an RE4-style shop run by a hand puppet merchant. 10/10 for me.
3) Viviette: I love this one, it's like SNES Clock Tower if it looked like Final Fantasy, lol. Incredibly creepy, some real good scares in this one despite its looks. Only negative I'd say is a few of the puzzles are kinda obtuse.
2) Corpse Party: Not what I was expecting! Not really scary per se but I got really vested in the situation the characters were in, it's incredibly horrible and stressful. Also relies on some killer sound design in parts that actually made me physically ill, always a plus, lol
