I still have a hard time deciding whether the drives through northern AZ or Northern NM are better but they're both so gorgeous. My only thing is that I miss my greenery, I can only stare at various landscapes of brown and tan and orange for about a week.

We got lucky and the weather was good for the trip home so we went the northern route and got to see both. Unfortunately it was getting dark as we crossed Colorado, so we didn't see the full beauty of the mountains. My first trip when I retire is to do that at a slower speed.
