I think everyone should own a camera beyond their phone. Nothing too crazy, but like, a solid CAMERA. A DSLR, a mirrorless, or like a 1" sensor point and shoot. Just, a basic camera and some basic photography knowledge will change your LIFE.

I remember growing up and being fascinated with cameras. Just holding and using a camera was so cool. And then gradually they became commonplace on phones and they stopped being so cool. So holding a camera that's totally separate from your phone just FEELS good. Photos feel so much more important.

I used to have a DSLR that I’d take into the woods behind my house and just photograph things with. I should look into getting another. Theres a nice feeling that comes with a proper, quality camera.

I know what you mean. I try to be the photographer member of my group. Won't do it much now-a-days because my camera broke and I just couldn't be bothered to replace it.
