You know what's insane? Persona 3 (a game made in 2007) has more female to female relationship development in two fucking dialogue boxes than Rebirth (a game made in 2024) has in 100 hours of game play.
It's persona. Of course it's peak.
Remake set up such a nice springboard to more fully develop Tifa and Aerith's relationship and then Rebirth looked at that, said "what if we didn't," and punted it into the ocean
Mitsuru and Yukari's friendship progressed so nicely. Aerti had the potential in Remake but Rebirth was just eugh.. imo mostly bc they fumbled so hard with Aerith
