Personally I think its neither of those things and this is just one of those wake up calls from reality that we will very likely send to voicemail that we need to reinforce our infrastructure against climate change and do more to mitigate the damage until we can stop doing damage.

That hurricane fucked up the Internet on its way out. Shit was working near perfectly the whole asskicking then just died once the storm had fully downgraded and fucked off hundreds of miles west.

This storm is nuts. I'm up in the Appalachian mountains and this crap just straight up don't happen here. Yet here I am thousands of feet up and like 900 miles away from where it made landfall and the whole storm is just here now over us, and they only just downgraded it to a tropical depression.
