I visited Dachau in 2016 and this evokes the thought of someone getting married in the camp there. It's the same aesthetic and utter contempt for the horrors enacted there. That is not a place for celebration. ID: Marriage photo in a prison hallway with "the hot new wedding venue? old prisons"
What does this say about their views of marriage?
We had a field trip to Angola in high school and visited the old death house, the memory of which still sends a chill to my soul. Never felt a more haunted place. The current death chamber was near the visitor center and I skipped that part of the tour.
Even if you could do a plantation wedding - is that venue okay? Do they get wedding photos in front of the slave quarters?
I just... I feel sick. I've been crying since I tripped over this I truly do not understand how anyone can walk through a place where so many people have felt so much pain, where so many people have been murdered, in anything but silence and grief To try to make it a place of joy is unconscionable
