Voters are advised to return their ballots early because of mail delay concerns

Election officials are raising concerns about the U.S. Postal Service's ability to handle this fall’s expected influx of election mail. But USPS say it’s ready to deliver the country’s ballots.

Many cities have advance ballot boxes that are emptied everyday where you can also drop off your ballots. You can usually look up where those are online at vote.org after you get your mail-in ballot (and it's free). You can also drop off a completed ballot at any polling place on election day.
