Here's a wider view of the sunset from October 17, showing lower Manhattan on the left. If you squint, you can see the Statue of Liberty glowing green near the center of the horizon. #sunset

My efforts to see the comet last Thursday were thwarted by these clouds. But then they went and put on this beautiful show, so the evening turned out good anyway. #sunset

Is there such a thing as Cute Spider Friday? Let's make it happen. 😊🕷️

That's really beautiful. I'd love to decorate my yard with these. 😊

Here is another view of the same Ruby-Crowned Kinglet that was in the previous post. This tiny bird was busy gleaning insects from the undersides of leaves, pausing only for split-seconds to catch its breath before devouring the next batch of no-see-ums. 🪶

For many insects, this is the terrifying face of a monster! This tiny Ruby-Crowned Kinglet can consume a gazillion insects (yeah, I counted, 😅) without breaking a sweat. I watched this little guy and his/her buddies devour clouds of no-see-ums that had engulfed this tree in Brooklyn. 🪶

There are people submitting eBird checklists from St Petersburg, FL this morning. This gives me hope. 🪶 ebird.org/region/US-FL...
