In this talk, Dr. Elena Cirkovic presents some of the main arguments and findings from her upcoming book: Complex Earth-Outer Space Systems and International Law: The Cosmolegal Proposal (Routledge, 2024). She also presents the outcome of her resent residency at SOLU / Bioart Society, Finland. The Earth’s atmosphere is not a strict boundary separating our planet from outer space; rather, it is a gradual transition from the dense lower atmosphere to the vacuum of space. Expanding environmental concerns to encompass Earth-outer space complex systems and the impact of human activities, Dr. Cirkovic’s upcoming book proposes the ‘cosmolegal’ perspective as a radical rethinking of the Law.
