it's hard to care very much about Twitter anymore. they're clearly only boosting those with the blue badge which can be bought, so why would a news agency waste any time there?

So many reasons. Because old habits die hard. Because performance metrics built on views and clicks during the prelon days don't account for % of verified bots and nazis. Because other news orgs are still there. These are not brave risk takers. They'll need a big push to leave.
