Furry is more than an aesthetic. More than Cosplay. More than a market of consumers. More than a scene and way more than a gimmick or a fad. There's something very special about our community/culture that is alive and always growing and becoming better.
I was a furry long before I knew of the fandom. Once I found it, I never looked back, and being more involved has just made my life better. This is such a beautiful, vibrant community of some of the most real people I've ever encountered call it home.
To many people it might be a hobby, but for me it is an important part of my identity. To the point that being in a couple with someone who's not a furry would be much more complicated that being with a furry. I am not against dating non-furries, lol, but there would be several hoops to go through.
I wouldn't have felt comfortable coming out in real life if it wasn't for the furry community I met online. The furry community help me find myself and saved my life
I could never understand or relate who refer to it as just a hobby. I’ve been one longer than I haven’t, since I was 10 / 11. It’s a core part of who I am that I can never see changing
People can say I'm weird but furry is important to me, idk like everything about this community is precious to me and I don't think I could be without it because like wtf would I do with my life x3
A subculture. That is how I think of it. People finding themselves in it, through it. And others.
Better like a FOX! 🦊 💕
Very beautifully put.
One of the things i really love about Furry is that it isn’t centered on a corporate-owned property or any one single creator. It can dip into and include those things, but as a fandom it’s rooted in the creations of its members. It’s something that can’t be taken away by lawyers
100% ! It’s an expression of something inside, I had my character even before I called myself “furry”, and I don’t do this “just ‘cause”
