but it's far more like choosing to excise a tumor than it is a snap decision bcz a rule was violated and that metaphor helps quite a lot i think bcz w/a tumor, ideally, uhm, you preserve all the healthy tissue you can you excise only the harmful aspect itself which can point to rehabilitation

rehabilitation should be the first impulse specifically because it's not like a whole human is pure evil i mean, people love to have their notions of who is an exception, so let's just say it rare AF if anything rehabilitation is trying to excise just the bad in a person
