Earlier this week our PI @heinivaisanen.bsky.social@jenchanfreau.bsky.social & Alina Pelikh. She discussed socioeconomic disparities in the risk of miscarriage in the UK and methodological challenges due to miscarriage misreporting 1/2

Three of the biggest, preventable causes of pregnancy loss are obstetric violence, environmental exposures to pollutants, and infectious disease (esp but not only TORCH pathogens). These are governmental/public health failings. I'm struggling to imagine a world where we take care of these issues.

I'm going to dare to do something here that I used to do in the good old days of Twitter: think aloud & hope others engage in a way that pushes me to think better/differently about something. I'm writing the final revision of my pregnancy loss book shortly & am struggling with the conclusion. 🧪🧵
