ive generally been a quiet pragmatist on voting. im inclined to think the lesser evil is preferable to the greater. ive always been sensitive to harm reduction arguments. but i am finally starting to doubt that we are entitled to harm reduction. we're doing monstrous things, unforgivable stuff

My mom first voted in 1968 and it was much the same situation and much the same attitude towards Humphrey. Nothing new under the sun. Speaking only for me, I want the ability to vote after this year. But that’s a perfectly rational attitude to have and you’re in the right to have it

On the one hand you have progressives demanding that the Democrats actually strive to be the better party instead of the least worst, and on the other the centrists who are quite ok with being the least worst. Yet we're scolded that the progressives are not serious people, and here we are.

Harm reduction without a global perspective risks further serving imperialism. A case could be made that an America hamstrung, distracted and turned inward by another Trump term would be more easily marginalized by world actors with better intentions for the global community. *Not an endorsement*
