(Cross-posted from my team’s account on X (@GLANSIS_news) as we don’t have official NOAA accounts here yet — I’m hoping that will change, as this seems to be a great new platform for getting the word out about participatory science!)
Had a nice chat with the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel this week about the #GLANSIS#InvasiveSpecies#GreatLakeswww.jsonline.com/story/news/l...
The Great Lakes are practically unrecognizable if you compare them to the Great Lakes of the 17th century.
Hi there! I’m a science communicator with Michigan Sea Grant, where I do outreach and comms work around aquatic invasive species in the Great Lakes. My ResearchGate profile is here: www.researchgate.net/profile/El-L...
Communicating the science of aquatic invasions in the Laurentian Great Lakes.
Had an absolutely delightful time at the Pleasant Peninsula festival in Grand Rapids this weekend talking about #foraging#invasivespecies#scicomm folks!
Sympathy and solidarity! As someone with health anxiety who recovered (quickly and with no lingering issues!) from my second round of COVID in July, I’ve been quiet about it because anecdotes can be panic-inducing just like WebMD. Balancing awareness and dread is hard from a comms perspective!
Good to see you online again, Titus! I’ll try to coax the rest of our Great Lakes and Sea Grant gang over here slowly but surely….
I’m giving a #foraging#invasivespecies and Michigan Sea Grant’s Freshwater Feasts recipe blog at the Pleasant Peninsula: Art & Activism Fair 2024! Come see me on August 24 at 5 pm at the Sixth Street Bridge in Grand Rapids to learn about wild recipes, foraging ethics, and more!
Finally, FINALLY making an account over here as the bird site continues to spiral into further unpleasantness — hoping to rebuild some of my scicomm connections on a friendlier platform!
