I guess my question is what is more what is the mindset? Eg There are some things I am wholley intolerant of. But that doesn’t make me think of myself as ‘intolerant’. Are we just describing tribal boundaries when we use these words? Is this a relative or an absolute scale?

I kind of feel my answers are still relevant to that question. It’s the things that account for the amount that we are open to “the other” and the more secure and unthreatened we feel allows movement on that scale. If we had impervious skin we could tolerate any number of knives.
