I was trying to remember the name of a piece of software the other day (Scrivener) and I kept being offered AI software for "generating" citations from their* work and I'm utterly baffled at how you could even write a proper essay without just naturally getting citations. *Hopefully

I Could see it being useful for tracking down a hard to find origin for a quote you lost or something but honestly I doubt it's actually remotely reliable for that.
