Waiting for the Republicans here in MO to tell me Iām going to jail for having a hysterectomy a few years ago.
7. The Muppet Christmas Carol (Michael Caine, Kermit, The Great Gonzo; 1992) Is there anything better? (No.)
6. The Man Who Invented Christmas (Dan Stevens, Jonathan Pryce; 2017) The story of Dickens writing A Christmas Carol. Kind of an interesting take on the story, and Christopher Plummer turns up as Scrooge.
5. Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer (stop motion; 1964) I donāt actually care much for this story; the older I get the more I think Santa and the elves were just a bunch of shitty bullies. But, you know. Tradition.
4. White Christmas (Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye, Rosemary Clooney; 1954) Vera Ellen is annoying in this but I like the General and his relationship with his men. And Bing singing āWhite Christmas,ā of course.
3. A Christmas Carol (Sir Patrick Stewart; 1999) My husband owns every version on DVD and we watch them all. I like Dominic West as Fred in this, and SPS is my favorite Scrooge.
2. National Lampoonās Christmas Vacation (Chevy Chase, Beverly DāAngelo; 1989) Introduced my kid to this a couple years ago and now itās a favorite. Cousin Eddie wearing the white sweater and dark dickie has been burned into my brain since this came out.
Christmas Movies 2023 Edition 1. The Bishopās Wife (Cary Grant, Loretta Young, David Niven; 1947) I donāt know why I always start with this one (Cary Grant is why) since itās religious in tone (and I am not religious) but it seems to be how I always kick off the holiday movie season. š¼š»
