I respect the niche costume but I also love really garish costumes that aren’t actually anything and can’t be explained. Simulacra of costumes. Went to a party last night where the winner of the costume contest was just a dude dressed as a giant ball of gold tinsel
When my kid was a teenager he dressed as one of the British sailors from Master and Commander. Came running home all excited to tell me how one of our elderly neighbours recognized the costume and went to get his wife so she could see him too.😂
