Every time I see a WORKERS ARE INSANELY PURSUING A 28% payrise headline now I don't even need to check to know that it's like a combined 19 years of payrises and it makes me so angry how it's framed every time.

I once went to HR with a dossier of “here are all the well-evidenced reasons this person needs firing”, only to be told that no, we can’t simply sack someone for committing numerous sackable offences in a surprisingly short timespan. But yeah, wokeness or something.

Fair, that makes sense. At the time I only really played Command & Conquer on PC, was much more a console gamer. Aside from having a PS1, the promise of MGS2 sold me on the PS2. But yeah, Virtua Tennis, Power Stone, Jet Set Radio, Shenmue… Dreamcast had some amazing games.

I always regret not having a Dreamcast; my parents were quite happy for me to hold out a year for a PS2. (well, aside from mum having to queue for hours to collect on launch day, after preordering months earlier…) Friends had Dreamcasts, though, and I loved all the couch co-op. So much fun.
