I don't mind that there's a preference for one or the other, but I am sad about the us and them meaning they aren't sharing and learning from each other.

Does the curse of knowledge apply when you're looking at 'choosing' secondary schools for children? How do people who don't understand the systems navigate this? Or does it actually make it easier when you are less familiar with how schools operate?

some children are devastated to be on the cloud. Others are like 'whatever, I'm always there so don't care'. Such a poor way to motivate.

it's sort of interesting but I think would erode many of the reasons people love teaching and just create new problems. We need to address root issues behind recruitment and retention.

we need to get better at this learning from each other. I loved talking to early years and primary teachers and it benefited me massively when teaching secondary.

glad I missed that. I no longer have a lanyard but was proud of the one I had before as a sign of acceptance and inclusion. Everybody belongs.

we have friends with a driveway conveniently opposite the school - extremely handy on a rainy day when the bikes are not in use. It was dry this morning though so this afternoon they'll just have to get wet coming home!
