Someone needs to explain why peeing after sex is a thing. It doesnāt have to be this way, maāam.
My understanding of the Holocaust was shaped by reading Anne Frankās diary and then learning about the Holocaust in my history class in school. Today Frankās book ends up on book banning lists as a target text. Weāre not fond of looking at the difficult parts of history in the United States.
I find it makes students much more amenable to learning when I acknowledge how tired they are. It helps even more when I admit Iām just as tired as they are. ļæ¼ Sometimes, the look of relief on their face just to be seen is everything. ļæ¼
Even when we know that access, universal design, and accommodation that is available to all makes an appreciable difference to society as a whole, our government is hostile to those of us who are disabled, which merely illustrates how deeply rooted ableism is in our culture.
As in, "you've tried x, right?" <meaningful look> Me, "Yes." Them: "And it didn't work, right?" <meaningful look> Me, "That's correct. I had xyz reaction." Them: writing furiously. "OK. I think that about does it." I am, unfortunately, paying for the oxygen machine that helps me ward off headaches.
I was having debilitating cluster headaches (sometimes called s**cide cluster headaches for a reason) 18+ days a month. Doctor wanted to put me on a medication that is proven to treat my condition. Insurance wanted step-therapy. My doctor walked me through the steps ASAP and voila, the medicine.
Mine aggressively changes āhas toā into āhast,ā every single time, no matter how many times I change it to the correct spelling. Turns out hast is an archaic second person singular present of have. So close and yet so far, autocorrect.
I hadnāt seen that news. What a terrible loss.
Or people should be respectful of others. Itās not difficult to not harass someone on social media. Itās not on YOU to accommodate them because they are not respectful. Those who choose to harass others are the problem. The response shouldnāt be āget smaller.ā It should be to scold the aggressor.
Itās a basic public health issue that desperately needs attention, but instead our politicians areā¦<waves hands around >ā¦doing whatever this is.
