Yep. That’s why they’re able to force inmates to work for like 10 cents an hour or some other obscenely low number. Slavery never went away, it just moved to the prison system.

Somebody definitely should make this argument in court. And keep making it for every state that agrees to hear this case. Either he finally concedes or he’s ineligible. Pick one.

So long, 2023. Don’t let the door hit you in the ass on your way out.

Researchers estimate that the economic cost of Long COVID in the US is $3.7 trillion, which is comparable to the cost of the Great Recession. It is reckless for governments to ignore preventing and treating COVID and Long COVID. Source: www.hks.harvard.edu/centers/mrcb...

Adding across the three areas, Table 1 shows the total cost of long COVID is $3.7 trillion. 59% of the cost is lost quality of life; the remainder is reduced earnings and greater medical
spending. The total amount is roughly $11,000 per person, or about 17% of pre-COVID US GDP. By another metric, the cost of long COVID rivals in aggregate the cost of the Great Recession.

Elon "I hate subsidies" Musk tried to grab a billion in subsidies to deliver Starlink satellite broadband service to a handful of airport parking lots and traffic medians. The Biden FCC (correctly) rejected him, so prepare for a lot of whining about how the government was mean to him:

Starlink loses out on $886 million in rural broadband subsidies
Starlink loses out on $886 million in rural broadband subsidies

The FCC decided it wouldn’t be the “best” use of limited funds.

Thank you. I am just one of a multitude though. I grieve for all employees who got the axe through no fault of their own.

I agree. I don’t want them to ban it. I’m just looking at the implications of if (when?) they do it.
