I don’t know who needs to hear this, but to every Thanksgiving shopping list, I will always add the following four things regardless of whether or not I think I’ll need them, and I have never been sorry: - heavy aluminum foil - bag of lemons - extra onion or shallots - good vanilla ice cream
Because I really don't know: When are lemons useful? I like to use a little lemon rind in sugar cookie dough, but generally? 🍋🍋 Disclaimer: I haven't had my first cup of coffee and maybe I'm eating lemons all day
Also, if anybody asks what they can bring, and there’s nothing specific on your list, don’t say nothing. Say ice or a corkscrew. You were going to run out of at least one.
I always have the first 3 on hand but definitely need to add ice cream.
what do you use lemons for in thanksgiving dinner? just curious
Breyers Natural Vanilla ftw
Packages of the cheap grocery store Tupperware for leftovers! Don’t send your personal stuff home with your guests.
Not Thanksgiving related, but last time I was at the grocery store I realized how unnecessary “running out of garlic” is and just bought like, 12 bulbs instead of the standard three. I know I’m going to use them.
Get any basic baking supplies early too. Few things as annoying as needing a specific type of flavoring or food coloring the night before or day of and having to visit a half dozen stores to find that one thing.
This is wisdom
I'm with you on everything but the ice cream. Is this in case you're "ice cream on pie" people?
