I have heard that the absolute best, most important thing to do is judge a book by its cover. I have never once heard a pithy bit of folk wisdom to the contrary.

I'm very tired of the culture of take pictures first with knee jerk reactions and asking questions later.
I had very much the same reaction the first time I saw Maus 2's cover, almost 25 years ago. I read them out of order, because the library's teen comics section only had "And Here My Troubles Began" available. I checked it out alongside Barefoot Gen and Weird of the White Wolf.
Literacy is overrated.
Sure we are, it's still on the shelf. (And on mine.)
