As much as i don't like Shor he at least cleared this hurdle. A shame no one in his fanclub ever did.

the only genuine principle is "leadership knows best". there is a funny, in a horrifying, bleak way, exception to this. only on two instances did i see dem diehards willing to break away from the party line and go "no, not good enough" instead of "what can ya do, it's how it is" from joe

so many of you do not have any actual firm beliefs on what the democrats can or can't do, which matches a lack of firm principles. even the "we have to be pragmatic" principle isn't born out of a genuine personal belief of what's pragmatic, it's entirely "what is dem leadership signalling right now"

the student debt saga still remains the most blatant for me. "biden can't do anything about debt morons, plus it'd cost him votes, take a civics class" -> "biden was always going to do this so be grateful but he can't use HEA, take a civics class" -> "hell yeah biden's using HEA to help wipe debt"

and we know this because we've seen this flip multiple times with republicans. "we have to do bipartisanship and kiss ass and snuggle up to them, we can't make them mad, plus voters love it" has always flipped immediately to "hell yeah, fuck them, let's go" every time dems actually go on the attack.

the same goes for netanyahu. "we can't do anything, what if he gets even worse" will flip immediately to "yes it's obviously time to finally start cutting off aid" the exact moment dem leadership decide to. all those worries of "this won't work/it'd backfire" would immediately evaporate.

"we can't do anything because AIPAC will attack us, it is what it is, it sucks, but what can we do" would turn, overnight, into "hell yeah it's time to finally ditch AIPAC who cares what they think" from this crowd the moment dem leadership decide to go on the attack with them.

but even this is not a firm, hard, ideological belief of theirs, that the best strategy, or only strategy available, is to just knuckle down, keep your head down, avoid picking fights. they will enthusiastically support picking a fight when their leaders choose to do so.

dem die hards do not have any actual strategy to get change. every construction they present to you is with a priority of, above all else, "avoid conflict". to the degree they want to win and get change, it is wins accomplished by never having to fight and deal with anger and struggle.

the 'solution' seems to be "hope the GOP and AIPAC spontaneously collapse, the media suddenly decides to start being nice to us, and netanyahu finally gets tired of genocide or has a heart attack or something, idk". that democrats will get massive change and victories by basically doing this
