I just transferred infosec.exchange from gandi to dnsimple and it took maybe 4 hours from start to finish. That used to be a much more painful process. Also, does anyhow know how domain transfers are handled where the domain to be transferred has several years of pre-payment left?

After this particular $WORK week, today was a much needed, and *very* Maine de-stresser w/ @marybethR

A vast landscape view from a hilltop with green trees in the foreground and rolling hills extending into the distance. The sky is clear blue with scattered, puffy white clouds.
A scenic view of dense autumn foliage, dominated by orange and red leaves, with a few green trees in the distance under a bright blue sky filled with fluffy white clouds.
A rugged coastal scene featuring large gray rocks by the ocean, with waves crashing against the shore. The deep blue sky is clear, reflecting the sunlight on the sparkling water.
A well-maintained apple orchard with rows of small apple trees bearing ripe red apples. The scene is set against a backdrop of tall evergreen trees under a partly cloudy sky.

Bonus Drop #65 (2024-10-05): CIDR Serendipity The weekend Bonus Drop discusses 3 tools: cidrex, a command-line utility for expanding IP addresses and CIDR ranges; ferment, a recreation of cidrex in C that focuses on smaller binary size; and libxo, a library for generating structured output in […]

Did a little "try to go back to sleep" project in the wee AM hours (it accomplished both the sleep goal and project goal!). `ferment` (https://codeberg.org/hrbrmstr/ferment [Original post on mastodon.social]

Terminal output showing an IP address breakdown. The first command, ‘echo “127.0.0.1\n10.0.0.0/29\n2001:db8::1/126”’, is piped into a script called ‘./ferment’. The output lists various IPv4 and IPv6 addresses: 127.0.0.1, a range from 10.0.0.0 to 10.0.0.7, and IPv6 addresses from 2001:db8:: to 2001:db8::3.

I don't remember `wc`, `w`, `df`, and `last` CLI commands on macOS having libxo support, but I'll take what I can get from Apple. ```bash $wc --libxo json -l test.out {"wc": {"file": [{"lines":1303,"filename":"test.out"}]}} ``` is pretty handy. Wish they'd support all the FreeBSD CLI […]

I "get it”, but Apple now preventing third-party apps from self-updating by default is going to really annoy alot of ppl

Well, I'd literally be clinically insane rn if it weren't for @ntkramer. A very challenging work week was made much less so thanks to him. This does require me to be extra mean to him in the next Storm⚡️Watch episode on the 15th (no SW next week due to us being DoS’d at a GN offsite). I do […]

Drop #540 (2024-10-04): Friday Fun! Today's Drop features three text- or terminal-based games: CortexForge, a challenging puzzle game; AI Dungeon 2, an AI-driven text adventure offering interactive storytelling; and Ninvaders, a command-line version of Space Invaders […]

Yeah, so if the dock workers got their “no automation" demand, we need to abolish their union forever. It's stupid, myopic, daft, and makes no REDACTED sense.
