I've been pricing my old M:TG collectiona nd it reminds me a lot of what @johnrogers.bsky.social says, "Amatures study tactics. Professionals study logistics." Most of the highest priced cards break the resource curve or allow you to search the card you need out of your deck.
There's a reason my first winning deck, waaaaay back in the day, was a Millstone deck.
