I have been tracking this today. Over on Twitter a member of the neo Nazi group Blood Tribe, which has marched against the Hatians and worked to inflame tensions in Springfield, is actively doxxing and threatening their critics in the town. It's simply stunning what is permitted by Elon.
Trump repeating lies about haitians he saw on tv shows how his strategy relies on vile smears about vulnerable groups that can travel unchallenged on post-2020 social media networks, commandeered by the far right to spread racist lies as far and fast as possible www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archiv...
As long as itās cruel, politically expedient, and on TV
Me (puts on tinfoil hat): I think elon wants to cash out of tesla and spacex before those castles built on sand collapse and just spend all day being worshipped by the type of people that inspired restraining orders to be created.
X is now Elon's Truth Social or Parler
Shocking but not surprising.
In general providers have pretty broad protections against the actions of their users but Elon repeating the anti-Haitian lies himself probably blows up those protections. Hopefully those threatened will find lawyers eager to take a nice big bite of Musk for his part in it.
Time to nationalize everything Elon has.
Is a century old slur against the black community. Jack Posobeic wrote a book using his favorite nazisms. That was one of the racist stories All bs to create chaos and division so they could grift. They're so obvious and evil Incredibly scummy hypocrites
Not sharing links to the posts or account in question because it is truly gross and dangerous stuff.
"Blood Tribe"?
I feel like this story should get exponentially bigger as Nazis roll into town. But I could be mistaken. Years later the media sort of goes along with the Charlottsville revisionism. Advertisers and Twitter users need to realize they're on a platform run by Goebbels.
Hereās my op-ed today about this, based on a long conversation with aperson directing a social services organization there: doxxed, threatened, worried, and unbowed. maggiewashburne.medium.com/red-herrings...
