I just finished my #ACESVCON24 session on clear communication with Microsoft Word's Track Changes, so it's time for me to start plugging my self-paced, hands-on course that builds on what I shared in my talk! It launches on October 4, and it's open for preorders with a ✨20% discount.✨
You're really providing great cozy content. <3
Watching Erin Maher's presentation and she pointed out that Microsoft probably doesn't consider the needs of editors because they don't consider Word to be *for* us. Not wrong, but wild to hear pointed out in consideration of Word being the publishing industry's standard. #AmEditing#ACESVCON24
No one goes into a grocery store and says "This food would be so much cheaper if I dumpster dived for it." No one goes to Banana Republic and complains that sweaters aren't .25 cents like they are at the thrift store.
I've heard the "this bookstore isn't as cheap as [used bookstore/Salvation Army/yardsale/the $1 bin at the local library]" so many times. So. Many. Times. When I was in Japan, I heard US bookshoppers complain that English-language books are cheaper in the US. ....Duh? What is up with this?
I love this.
It was excellent! Thank you so much.
"I'm never happier than when I'm working on a manuscript." —James Gallagher, editor at presentation for #ACESVCON24
#ACESVCON24 kicks off, with ACES president Heather E Saunders presiding. Welcome, all!
