i’m a little confused - how is “no taxes on tips” a giveaway to the super rich? does it have something to do with “household labor”.
you’re a hedge fund manager. you charge a fee. you learn that there are no longer taxes on tips. you now offer your services to your clients for free, but also strongly suggest they tip you in the form of a percentage of their investment.
It, among other things, removes a lot of money from matching taxes for SS.
I believe it includes what scotus called tips, which are bribes after the fact.
Basically you create a special new type of income that isn't taxed all of a sudden a whole bunch of people are going to be getting billion dollar "tips"
The employer doesn’t have to count tips either and therefore they don’t pay payroll taxes on it either.
