Just to add and support any librarians facing this there is clear guidance to back you up - backed by Arts Council and by extension DCMS and the government. www.cilip.org.uk/news/651518/...

Where a librarian finds themselves asked to remove titles, for example by the governors of their school or local councillors, they are encouraged to resist, as far as reasonably possible, to explain to the complainant the implications of censorship and to make CILIP and other bodies aware of the situation (in confidence where necessary).
