Letby was not qualified to opine about any cause of death. All she did was agree with the premise of a murder investigation. The defense failed to counter that premise with a medical expert.
The defense experts have come forward and publicly raised their issues with the prosecution's claims, so we know their opinions would have been helpful to the defense. After 9 months of medical experts overwhelming the jury with speculation and medical jargon, the defense countered with a plumber.
