The Gander Mall Canadian Tire entrance in Gander, Newfoundland. The phone's wooden mounting plaque looks like a custom job. Its wiring is exceptionally slapdash. (Mamiya 7ii, 43mm f4.5, KodakTriX)

A payphone sits between a "claw" vending machine game, a glass display case with team photos and documents in it and a fire hose. A sign above the display case has a Canadian Tire logo and the message: Community Starts here. One banner in the case reads Jumpstart, giving kids a sporting chance. The other says Canadian Tire and the community. The wall is covered in 1970s style brick the floor has an intricate tile pattern of the same vintage.
