Decent flock of small waders, among the piles of sea weed brought in by the storm, on Marazion beach. Mostly Sanderling and Ringed Plover but a few Dunlin and 2 Purple Sands. Earlier, Barn Owl hunting over fields near Mayon chapel, Sennen at 10.00AM. #ukbirding
Juv Rosy Starling and 2 Wheatear were the best we could manage around Lizard Village this mornig. Sizeable flocks of Linnets/Goldfinchesmoon the weedy fields E of Houssel Bay with frequent attention from Sparrowhawks and Kestrels. #ukbirding
Birders, can we try to reunite the photos with their owner please? Can we spread the word. #UKBirding#birding#birds 🪶🦉
Wryneck between Kenidjak and Botallack this morning. One for my paltry "self found" list! Not much else: a few Chiffs being tantalising in the Pittosporum, Wheatear, 2 Chough. #ukbirding
Sunny morning out west. Lands End, Trinity, Cycle Path: 6 Whinchat, Spotted Flycatcher, F Marsh Harrier (unusual there). Cape Cornwall: the rather lovely Melodious Warbler gave several excellent views in the bracken and bramble in valley W of CP #ukbirding
Pleasant visit to Cheddar Reservoir which is in great condition for birds. Little Stint, Dunlin, Redshank, Ringed Plover, Ruff, Black Tailed Godwit, Snipe. At least a dozen Great Egret and the local Black Swan, no sign of the Ruddy Shelduck. Lovely to see @paganbirder.bsky.social and Anne.
